About The Position

FXCollaborative is an established architectural, interior design, planning, and urban design firm based in New York City. Noted for its commitment to sustainable design the firm has been recognized through local, national, and international design excellence awards and feature articles in the most prestigious design publications. The practice encompasses corporate, civic, cultural, educational, transportation, residential, hospitality, office, retail, and mixed-use projects on a variety of scales, from single story to high-rise. Program Overview: Our internships offer students a unique opportunity to compliment formal education and jumpstart their career as an Architect by gaining marketable work-experience. Build on your existing knowledge with direct training opportunities and gain an overall understanding of our firm/studio functions with hands-on experience. Participation in projects will be determined by assignment. Summer Internships typically run from June 1st to August 31st; however, dates are flexible. Internships are paid an hourly rate between $22.00 and $28.00 and we offer a one time housing stipend of $1,500 to students that do not live in the NYC area. Ideal candidates are those interested in developing professionally, eager to learn and gain hands-on experience.

Requirements

  • Candidates for Summer Internships should be currently enrolled in either a B. Architecture or a M. Architecture Program from an accredited university.
  • Candidates should have a maximum of two years remaining prior to graduation.
  • Strong interest in architecture, interior design and belief in environmental responsibility.
  • Must be motivated, organized, efficient and a team player with ability to work with all levels of personnel.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to meet deadlines under strict time constraints.
  • Must be dependable and conscientious and have the ability to work juggle multiple tasks.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable with Outlook, AutoCAD, REVIT and other related design and 3D rendering software.
