Summer Intern - Tax - Carmel, Indiana As an Allegion tax intern, you will contribute meaningful work and make a direct impact to the finance team. You will gain hands-on experience in U.S. state income tax compliance with additional exposure to other areas of corporate tax. Additional opportunities include one-on-one access to leaders throughout our finance team, experience with the latest tax technology, opportunities to give back to the central Indiana community and an open and casual working/learning environment. Ideally, you have an inquisitive nature and are ‘curious beyond the obvious’; eager to learn by asking questions with the ability to problem-solve in an efficient and creative way. Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance or a relevant discipline
  • Effective listening, time management and creative problem-solving techniques
  • An inquisitive nature, the aptitude to ask questions and apply outcomes to similar situations
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative e.g. school club officer, sports team captain, resident advisor, leadership on school or work projects, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the U.S. state income tax team to prepare state income tax returns for various corporate and partnership entities
  • Opportunities to research state statutes for the purpose of supporting tax return filing positions
  • Assist with other tax projects as needed
  • Obtain the experience to create a foundation for growth and future opportunities within tax or finance
