About The Position

As a Process Safety intern at Westinghouse, you will contribute to the development of technical products and systems as part of a dynamic team. The paid, full-time, onsite summer position is based at the Burr Ridge, Illinois facility, also known as Fauske & Associates, and runs from May through August 2027. You will report to the Chemical Process Engineering Senior Manager. The position includes a capstone presentation highlighting your accomplishments during the internship.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemical, nuclear, or mechanical engineering, or a related field.
• Completed sophomore year of college.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering staff by performing assigned test requests, simulations, and related tasks.
• Maintain a safe and professional laboratory environment and comply with company safety policies and directives.
• Assist or lead calorimetric design, experimentation, and data collection.
• Assist or lead thermal hydraulic testing design, experimentation, and data collection.
• Assist or lead numerical simulations supporting process or facility challenges.
• Communicate with team leads and senior management, and document activities in peer-reviewed reports.
• Complete a capstone presentation highlighting accomplishments during the internship.
• Move pressure vessel components weighing up to 40 lb.
