About The Position

This is a paid, full-time hybrid summer internship located at Westinghouse's Cranberry location. The intern provides technical support for the design and analysis of reactor components and performs analytical calculations and evaluations using engineering tools and methods. The role also involves preparing related documentation, coordinating with internal functional groups, planning and scheduling work, and learning to apply standards and procedures for engineering design documents.

Requirements

• Be pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
• Have completed the sophomore year of college.
• Have skills using software packages such as Mathcad, Matlab, ANSYS, or equivalent, and the ability to learn new packages quickly.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to component leads for assigned work in the design and analysis of reactor components throughout the design process.
• Perform analytical calculations and evaluations of reactor components using engineering tools and methods, and develop documentation related to the calculations and analyses.
• Interface with internal functional groups at a similar engineering level to obtain information needed for work assignments.
• Plan and schedule work to meet assignment requirements.
• Learn to evaluate, select, and use standards, techniques, procedures, and criteria to develop engineering design documents, including calculations and specifications.
