About The Position

This internship offers the opportunity to be part of an innovative team supporting Westinghouse's mission to provide clean energy solutions. The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, project controls, design, and quality engineering, to ensure the successful execution of fabrication, machining, and inspection activities. The role is a paid, full-time, onsite position for the summer, from May to August 2027, reporting to the Engineering Manager at the Newington facility.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or related engineering degree
  • Completed Sophomore year of college
  • Interpret engineering drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Familiarity with CNC machining processes, welding technology, dimensional inspection, and NDE processes

Responsibilities

  • Interpret purchase orders, specifications, and engineering drawings to define manufacturing processes
  • Prepare shop travelers to guide fabrication, machining, and inspection operations
  • Partner with operations teams on fixture design and process optimization
  • Provide on-the-floor technical support to operations, ensuring resolution of issues

Benefits

  • The hourly rate for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $25.40 to $29.00 per hour.
