About The Position

State Farm is seeking passionate IT students for its Summer Internship Program within the Enterprise Technology department. This program offers hands-on experience, real-world research, and development opportunities in exploring new and emerging technologies. Interns will have the chance to influence change and contribute to State Farm's mission of protecting the company and its policyholders. The internship is 10 weeks long, from June 1, 2027, to August 11, 2027, with a standard Monday-Friday work schedule of 38.75 hours per week. Interns are expected to be available for the full duration with minimal disruption. The pay is $28.00 per hour, plus a $2,000 stipend. This is a hybrid role, requiring some time in the office and some time working from home. Relocation benefits will not be provided. The primary hub locations are Bloomington, IL, and Richardson, TX. The application deadline is expected to be September 18, 2026, though it may close early. Qualified candidates will undergo a two-round interview process. Requirements

Currently enrolled full-time Freshmen & Sophomore's
3.5 or above GPA preferred
Present college students pursuing a major in Cyber Security, Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems/IT, or a similar field of study.
Experience (coursework, projects, work) in Information Security, Risk & Compliance, and Auditing
Drive and initiative to lead and influence positive change
Curiosity to solve problems
Ability to thrive in a team environment, as well as work independently
A desire to work for State Farm upon graduation
A can-do attitude, and someone who loves to have a bit of fun!
Has a basic understanding of risk and compliance
Completed High School Diploma/GED
Students who apply MUST be returning to school for at least one semester following the summer internship.
Ability to work on-site at one of our hub locations (Bloomington, IL or Richardson, TX) or within 180 miles of the assigned hub for the duration of the internship
Commitment to full participation throughout the internship period with minimal schedule disruptions
Selected interns must reside within the continental U.S. for the duration of the summer internship.
Applicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; employer will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work authorization (e.g. H-1B visa) for this opportunity.

Nice To Haves

Active involvement in cybersecurity clubs, organizations, or relevant projects
Experience with Java and/or Python, AWS/Cloud knowledge
Ability to demonstrate AI, Automation and Machine Learning interests is a plus
