The goal of Frito-Lay’s Engineering program is to provide students with the opportunity to leverage their academic understanding in a real-world, business-driven environment. You will have an opportunity to work on and manage a variety of different projects as well as leverage relationships and partner with leaders from our manufacturing plants. Our organization is based in Plano, Texas. What you can expect: Engineering Program – Frito Lay Plano, TX HQ On-Site Intern Position The HQ Engineering Internship will involve one (1), and up to three (3), project(s) driven by the Business-based needs for that calendar year. Projects requirements and deliverables are time-bound within the internship and provide a clear start/stop scope of work that may be a single project or a portion of a larger project. The project(s) can be in single or multiple phases of our project management life cycle: Initiating / Planning / Execution / Monitoring / Closing. Our Engineering Department is very collaborative internally and externally with a drive for technical curiosity, problem solving, engineering skillset, and project management (scope, budget, timing & risks). Gain understanding and network with our cross-functional supply chain functions & disciplines. Receive opportunities to build affiliation with associate peers and interact with Directors, Sr. Directors, Vice Presidents and Sr. Vice Presidents. Assist in the analysis of Engineering and Operations performance metrics, tools & processes. Time management skills and ability to multi-task are essential during the internship. Gain valuable insights between Processing, Packaging, Warehouse, Automation, Controls & Information, along with exposure to Capacity, Innovation, Productivity, Sustainability, Facilities, Infrastructure and National Rollout teams. Active engagement and support of all our Summer Internship activities developed by the Intern Council will ensure the most rewarding experiences.
