About The Position

As a Design Intelligence Visual Architect intern, you will use illustration and graphic recording techniques to transform conversations and evolve ideas into expressive, clarity-building visuals. You’ll help teams see possibilities, challenge assumptions, and align around what matters most. This internship is in person; you must be able to work from our Design Intelligence studio in Tysons Corner, Virginia at least 3 days/week. You will learn cross-functional collaboration in an Agile environment, participatory design methods to understand customer needs and articulate problems and pain points, how to iterate and improve on ideas and processes, how to plan your work in an efficient and agile way, and how to articulate decisions and present your work to stakeholders. You will experience a work culture like no other where design is valued and at the center of everything we do, an exciting and collaborative studio environment, direct mentorship from leadership, exposure to various disciplines both in design and other core technical capabilities, and group social events that promote networking, relationship building, comradery, and service.

Requirements

Rising third year student or above with a focus on illustration, animation, and visual story telling
Customer-centric mindset and experience, critical thinking skills, a collaborative nature, and a curiosity for solving complex problems
Local to the DMV area
Must be able to work from our Design Intelligence studio in Tysons Corner, Virginia at least 3 days/week

Responsibilities

Participate in meetings, discovery and visioning sessions, capturing ideas in real-time visuals that clarify complex discussions
Collaborate with internal business partners to expand and refine visuals
Translate workshop outputs into compelling stories and illustrations that communicate big picture ideas
Prepare artifacts and deliverables for presentations and feedback sessions
Develop and contribute to a visual template repository
