About The Position
This internship offers hands-on experience in ManhattanLife’s Mortgage Loan Department. The intern will collaborate using creative problem-solving techniques alongside peers and provide support in the servicing of multiple portfolios of commercial real estate loans. The role also involves conducting research and financial analysis of commercial real estate properties for financing per ManhattanLife lending parameters. The intern needs to contribute positively to projects and be able to work closely with a mentor and senior leadership.
Requirements
- Current college student pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, or Business field of study preferred. Other fields will be considered.
- Basic knowledge of financial terms and principles.
- Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.
- Basic analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
Responsibilities
- Request and follow up on required documentation from borrowers.
- Responsible for communication with borrowers.
- Conduct debt-to-income, debt service ratio (DSCR), and credit analysis.
- In-depth review of all required documentation.
- Maintain thorough and complete file notes of borrower information.
- Complete other duties and corporate functions as needed.
