Responsibilities

  • Inspects castings for external defects/scrap chute, excessive core fin or flash, and bum-in sand removal.
  • Removes high ingate from castings.
  • Operates all grinders in a safe manner by inspecting grinder for proper adjustment, cracks or chips in the wheel and overall working condition. Reports any problems to the supervisor.
  • Removes excess metal from castings following directions from work instructions.
  • Places finished parts in designated shipping containers for shipment as specified by work instructions.
  • Places appropriate "OK to Ship" tag on the container and writes clock number, part number and date on the tag.
  • Accepts other jobs in the finishing department, as needed.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
