About The Position

The job of Summer Grounds Crew Member is a customer service oriented position in which crew members will participate in grounds maintenance and equipment operation tasks to ensure the upkeep of University grounds, drives, walks, athletic fields and parking areas. The general purpose is to work with the Grounds crew for the purpose of completing projects in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining quality and meeting standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• Arm and hand strength
• Attention to detail
• Physical Dexterity, Strength, and Balance
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50lbs
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion

Responsibilities

• Participate in duties such as mowing, edging, weed trimming, watering, and landscaping
• Operate a variety of grounds equipment (mowers, weed trimmers & gardening / landscaping tools)
• Drive and operate UTV
• Maintenance to paving including minor asphalt repairs and parking lot striping
• Basic landscaping upkeep including planting, shrub maintenance, and maintaining mulch beds
• Clean and maintain outdoor areas such as patios, roads, sidewalks and parking lots
• Comply with safety standards to meet the University, State & Government standards
• Operate & work in a safe manner at all times
