Summer Day Camp Worker (5520)
About The Position
This position is responsible for leading children's activities at a day camp, including classroom training, tutoring, sports activities, bible study, computer programs, and specialized programs. The role also involves preparing and serving children's meals and snacks, assisting with leading field trips, and maintaining the cleanliness of the camp area. The primary focus is on providing constant care for children in an efficient, clean, loving, safe, secure, and healthy manner. This includes developing and implementing age-group specific lesson plans with hands-on activities, determining necessary supplies, ensuring children's safety, cleaning facilities, and maintaining accountability and security of children during activities and field trips. All accidents must be reported to the supervisor promptly.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Two (2) years’ experience teaching child development programs in a church, OR Any combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
- Valid Driver’s License
- C.P.R. and First Aid Certification
Responsibilities
- Lead children's activities at a day camp including classroom training, tutoring, sports activities, bible study, computer programs and specialized programs
- Prepares and serves children lunch and snacks
- Assists in leading field trips
- Maintains the cleanliness of the camp area
- Provides constant care of the needs of the children in an efficient, clean, loving, safe, secure, and healthy manner
- Develops and implements lesson plans which are age-group program specific; utilizes age-group appropriate discovery areas, enriched with program-specific activities, including teacher-made materials and hands-on activities
- Determines appropriate supplies and materials for lesson plans and recreational activities; ensures the children's safety in utilizing the same
- Cleans kitchen, classrooms, tables, floors, etc. in accordance with established sanitary standards
- Ensures the accountability, security, and safety of children participating in camp activities and field trips; reports all accidents to the supervisor in an accurate and timely manner
