About The Position

This position is for a Summer Enrichment Program Manager at DREAM, a role focused on providing free, engaging summer activities for youth in underserved communities. The manager will lead orientation sessions, manage logistics for daily adventures, and foster joy, creativity, and equity. The role involves supporting a team of summer AmeriCorps members, using strategies of empowerment and collaborative supervision to reduce the opportunity gap and address systemic inequities. DREAM emphasizes diversity, equity, and inclusivity, seeking individuals who can contribute to a diverse community and deliver culturally appropriate programming.

Requirements

  • Current driver’s license, proof of insurance, and clean driving record.
  • Willingness to be trained to drive a program van or utilize a personal vehicle to transport youth.

  • Demonstrated practice or education serving diverse communities or populations of color in an equitable and respectful manner.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and oversee the team of SummerCorps in their weekly activities at multiple community sites.
  • Conduct weekly planning meetings and 1:1 support meetings for SummerCorps members.
  • Manage budgets and provide daily on-site supervision of activities.
  • Cultivate a sense of team and belonging among AmeriCorps members.
  • Encourage creativity and quality program planning related to budgets and weekly activities.
  • Oversee AmeriCorps compliance, including member hours, timesheets, and program responsibilities.
  • Ensure organizational compliance with participant enrollment, risk management, and incident/concern reporting.
  • Attend and help lead SummerCorps orientation.
  • Coordinate and establish access to lunch for participating youth by working with partners.
  • Supervise and help run activities in neighborhoods where programming occurs.
  • Oversee the logistics of daily activities and adventures.
  • Regularly communicate with stakeholders including AmeriCorps members, families, community partners, and regional leaders.
  • Be supervised and supported by the region’s Youth Service Managers, meeting regularly with them and other Summer Program Managers.
  • Split time appropriately between on-site, supervisory, and administrative responsibilities.
  • Dedicate Mondays to program planning and supply acquisition.
  • Engage in full days of summer activities from Tuesday to Fridays.
  • Have opportunities to have FUN and PLAY.
