About The Position

This position ensures the safety of all children as they engage in all camp activities, on-site and on field trips. Counselors assist in planning activities and lead interactive learning stations to enhance students’ skills. They are role models for all students through their action, language, personal hygiene, and positive attitudes.

Requirements

  • An understanding willingness to uphold The Salvation Army’s Mission
  • Experience working with school age children.
  • The Ability to maintain ODJFS standards for employees and program operation
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s license and the ability to obtain and maintain driving privileges per Salvation Army insurance standards (if driving is a requirement)

Nice To Haves

  • Interest in or pursuing a degree in Education, Psychology, Sociology or Child Development
  • Current certification in CPR/first aid, communicable diseases, and child abuse prevention and recognition
