About The Position

NORY is seeking a Summer Camp Staff Development Coach dedicated to training and empowering camp leaders and teachers. This role involves mentoring and developing over 200 camp leaders and counselors, influencing the learning experiences of more than 4,000 campers over the summer. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in training, coaching, and managing educational teams, with a proven ability to enhance staff performance and foster significant growth. NORY is the premier STEM camp provider in NYC and Boston, offering a magical and transformative experience akin to the Disney World of STEM education.

Requirements

Proven experience in educational leadership, particularly in managing and training teaching staff (5+ years).
Demonstrated ability to implement effective teaching strategies and improve educational outcomes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster relationships with teachers, parents, and staff.
Knowledgeable in child development and experienced in adapting teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.

Responsibilities

Observe, train, and coach campsite leaders and teachers to enhance their performance and foster a positive, supportive learning environment.
Analyze feedback to set specific coaching goals, continuously assess staff performance, and provide constructive feedback to refine teaching strategies and enhance camp experiences.
Mentor campsite leaders on effective coaching techniques, promoting a partnered effort with Site Directors to develop and nurture educational staff.
Ensure all camp protocols are correctly implemented, maintaining and exceeding NORY standards to ensure the quality of the camp experience.
Provide guidance on effective behavior management and communication with parents when needed.
Actively communicate with headquarters teams—including curriculum, operations, and customer happiness—to improve support systems for campsite staff.
