About The Position

For nearly 30 years, ABC Children's Center has been serving the State College community. We are located next to GW Elementary School, nestled among trees in a park like setting. Currently, we have around 20 full-time and four part-time staff members, most of whom have been with ABC for at least five years or more. We have a position open for an energetic and motivated individual that would be able to establish and maintain a safe and creative learning environment for our toddlers this summer. This full-time position would be Monday-Friday, 8:30-5:30 with a one-hour break. While this is a summer position, there is potential to turn into a full-time job year round.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED
  • At least two years of experience with children (in a childcare center preferred)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children and parents, orally and in writing
  • Have, or willing to get, required clearances (Within the last five years)
  • Have, or willing to get, a physical with TB test (Within the last year)

Responsibilities

  • Implementing our Summer Camp curriculum (fun themes each week!)
  • Creating fun activities based on the weekly theme for the students to participate in
  • Communicating daily with parents
  • Maintaining a neat, organized classroom
  • Providing a nurturing, caring environment for the children in your care
  • Ability to work independently and within our team
