About The Position
The Summer Camp Staff supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. This seasonal position supports the Summer Camp team by keeping the children safe during the various summer camp activities and protected from the elements. Requirements
- Highschool diploma or GED required
- Minimum age of 18 years required
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with school-age youth preferred.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety of all children; maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Maintain awareness at all times of children’s activities.
- Follow emergency procedures as outlined by the Y Emergency Procedures Guide.
- Never leave children unsupervised.
- Follow parent/guardian sign in and sign out procedures.
- Follow provided curriculum activities, interacting with and motivating children.
- Supervise and interact with children in a variety of activities.
- Document attendance.
- Adhere to work schedule and substitute for other staff as needed.
- Respectfully communicate with children, parents, supervisors and other Y staff. Provide feedback to parents as needed.
- Follow emergency procedures and safety precautions. Follow procedures for reporting all accidents, incidents and hazards.
- Adhere to all policies, rules, and regulations as outlined in employee handbook and other communications.
- Obtain and maintain required training(s).
- Performs other duties as assigned.
