About The Position

Kiwassa Summer Programs are hiring for five (5) full time Summer Camp Leader. This is a Temporary, Full Time, On-Site position. Kiwassa Neighbourhood House grows a welcoming and inclusive community in the vibrant Hastings-Sunrise and Grandview-Woodland neighbourhoods of East Vancouver, Located on the traditional, unceded and occupied territories of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Səlílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (TsleilWaututh), and xʷməθkwəyə m (Musqueam) Nations. The Summer Camp Leader is a temporary, full-time position for 35 hours/week. This position will be delivering engaging activities for children (aged 5-10) to help keep them happy and healthy throughout the camp days. Applicants must be available for full-time work for the period of June 29th to August 21st, 2026.

Requirements

  • RA or ECE-A certificate
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Current First Aid C CPR certification
  • Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector
  • Under age 30
  • Canadian Citizen or PR status, or refugee protection
  • Valid Social Insurance Number (SIN)
  • Can legally work in Canada
  • Available for full-time work for the period of June 29th to August 21st, 2026

Responsibilities

  • Promotes, facilitates, and evaluates developmentally appropriate programs for participants that provide opportunities for physical, cognitive, emotional, and social skill development
  • Co-creates and maintains a strengths-based, inclusive, respectful, engaging, child-centred program.
  • Establishes trusting relationships with participants and families
  • Room set-up and food preparation
  • Completes administrative tasks such as attendance, report writing, and file maintenance
  • Provides one-on-one support as needed
  • Monitors progress and needs of children in consultation with supervisor
