About The Position

Galileo Learning is seeking an experienced leader to direct a Camp Galileo summer day camp serving K–8th grade. The Camp Director serves as the site's General Manager and public face, leading camp launch and operations, building a strong seasonal team, and creating a joyful, safe, inclusive environment for campers, families, and staff. The role oversees program quality, customer care, curriculum delivery, team leadership, and day-to-day site operations while bringing Galileo's Innovation Approach and mission to life. This is a seasonal role with three phases. Training and preparation take place from approximately March through June, generally 5–15 hours per week, mostly flexible and remote with scheduled virtual and in-person commitments, marketing events, and on-site preparation. Camp operations run approximately June through August, typically on-site Monday through Friday between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM, for up to 50 hours per week over 5–8 weeks depending on placement. Wrap-up takes place August through September and involves up to five total remote hours for final administrative tasks and staff reviews. Some training or marketing events may occur during evenings or weekends. Compensation is described as hourly pay of $23–$25 during preseason and postseason work, and a weekly salary of $1,600 during summer operations, with an additional $50 per week for each year of returning tenure in the role. The position may also earn $1 per camper-week enrollment and potential commission for add-on weeks. Perks include free camp for the employee's child or two giftable camp weeks, including extended care; a 15% Friends & Family discount; and priority nomination for financial assistance for someone the employee knows.
