About The Position

The Brooklyn Museum seeks four high school or college students to assist art-making classes in a summer camp for diverse youth ages 8-13. Art classes focus on painting, sculpture, drawing, animation and photography.

Requirements

Experience teaching youth and/or assisting in art classes.
Excellent communication, group management, and teaching skills.
Documented good attendance and punctuality.
As required by the Department of Health, all staff must submit a physical exam and TB test, with signed documentation from a physician, by the start of training.
Applicants must be a minimum of 16 years old.

Responsibilities

Assist with daily check-in and check-out
Prepare art supplies
Work one-on-one with campers in art classes
Lead afternoon activities
Work with the camp team to sanitize art supplies and clean work spaces in between classes
Support campers throughout the camp day
Supervise campers at the beginning and end of day and during lunch time
Stay late one day per week to supervise campers in After-Camp
