About The Position
The YMCA is hiring a Summer Camp Counselor in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. This part-time, seasonal, hourly role works Monday through Friday and pays $11–$13 per hour. The counselor helps children reach their potential, supports age-appropriate goals, and contributes to a positive summer camp community. The role involves supervising children during camp activities, supporting lessons and objectives, encouraging positive behavior and sportsmanship, and maintaining strong relationships with members and parents.
Requirements
- Must be at least 15 years of age.
- At least 1 year of experience working with children and teens.
- Enjoy working with children and maintaining positive relationships with their parents in high-energy athletic environments.
- Excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Safely supervise children through daily summer camp activities.
- Reinforce positive behaviors, teach proper sportsmanship, and bring enthusiasm to each camp day.
- Support lesson plans and camp objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with members and parents.
- Help ensure programs meet the needs of participants of all ages, abilities, and skill levels while maintaining campers’ safety and well-being.
