About The Position
The YMCA is hiring a Summer Camp Counselor in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. This is a part-time, seasonal, hourly role scheduled Monday through Friday, paying $11–$13 per hour. Counselors positively impact the summer camp community by helping children reach their potential, supporting age-appropriate goals, and contributing to the YMCA community. The role involves supervising children in a high-energy athletic environment, supporting camp plans and objectives, and building positive relationships with campers, members, and parents.
Requirements
- At least 15 years of age.
- At least one year of experience working with children and teens.
- Enjoy working with children and maintaining positive relationships with their parents in high-energy athletic environments.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to help ensure programs serve campers of all ages, abilities, and skill levels and maintain camper safety and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Safely supervise children through daily summer camp activities.
- Reinforce positive behaviors, teach proper sportsmanship, and bring enthusiasm to each camp day.
- Support lesson plans and camp objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with members and parents.
- Help ensure programs meet the needs of campers across ages, abilities, and skill levels while maintaining their safety and well-being.
