About The Position
The Patrick Henry Family YMCA is hiring Summer Camp Counselors to join their energetic and supportive team. As a Summer Camp Counselor, you will play a key role in creating a safe, fun, and inclusive environment for campers. You will lead activities, build positive relationships, and help make summer memories that last a lifetime.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Experience of at least 6 months working with children or in a camp, school, or recreational setting required
- High school diploma or GED required
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Energetic, dependable, and positive attitude
- Ability to spend time outdoors and participate in physical activities
Nice To Haves
- CPR/First Aid certification a plus (training may be provided)
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage children in daily camp activities
- Ensure camper safety and follow all camp policies and procedures
- Build positive relationships with campers, families, and fellow staff
- Serve as a role model by demonstrating teamwork, responsibility, and enthusiasm
- Assist with setup, cleanup, and general camp operations as needed
