About The Position

KidStrong is a milestone accelerator for children aged walking to 11 years old, focused on building stronger, smarter, and more athletic kids. The company helps parents discover their child’s potential and develop future-ready children who are confident and successful. KidStrong NJ/CT is expanding and seeking enthusiastic professionals passionate about engaging with children and parents to make a positive impact. This role offers a chance to be part of a fun, energetic, and professional team, with opportunities for coaching and mentoring children, flexible scheduling (part-time or full-time), and seasonal positions available.

Requirements

Athletic or coaching background.
Experience in summer camps or coaching kids ages 4 - 9 preferred.
Comfortable speaking to parents/guardians regarding incidents.
Available during camp hours (typically 9 am - 2:30 pm, may vary).
Passion for working with children is non-negotiable.
CPR certified.
Positive, motivating, and effective interpersonal communication skills.
Self-starter who gets a job done.
Enjoy the spotlight.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience coaching students within the appropriate KidStrong age.
Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise technique, and body mechanics.

Responsibilities

Coach children on brain, physical, and character development using a designed camp curriculum.
Speak to parents/guardians regarding any incidents that take place during camp.
Ensure camp starts and ends on schedule and follows the appropriate pace of the curriculum.
Greet students and parents/guardians upon arrival.
Maintain a dynamic, fun, motivational, and professional demeanor while leading camp.
Demonstrate and manage the implementation of various exercises.
Keep an accurate record of attendance.
Ensure cleanliness of the center, including taking out trash, sweeping, mopping, wiping equipment, and sanitizing mats.
Use the KS Coach’s App to record class data and provide records for parents.
Communicate professionally with co-workers via Slack.
Complete required training through LearnUpon.
Work in a physically intensive environment, potentially covering multiple miles, lifting and moving equipment up to 25 pounds.
Work "hands-on" with kids to ensure proper technique and safety.
Attend mandatory staff meetings.
Obtain camp-certified status.
Provide supervision, safety, and program implementation for campers, ensuring their well-being.
