About The Position

St. Gabriel the Archangel is seeking a responsible and energetic Summer Camp Aide to support the daily operations of the parish summer camp program. This role assists camp staff in providing a safe, engaging, and faith-filled environment for children, helping to facilitate activities, supervise campers, and ensure a positive and enjoyable experience for all participants.

Requirements

• High school student or graduate preferred
• Experience working with children in a camp, school, or childcare setting preferred
• Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain active and engaged throughout the camp day
• Commitment to providing a safe and supportive environment for children
• Must complete all Archdiocational requirements, including background check and safe environment training (if applicable)
• All candidates receiving an employment offer must submit a pre-employment screening. The screening will include criminal background check, Family Care Safety Registration, drug screen, employment and educational licensure/certification verification, health screening, and any other screenings deemed necessary for employment. Any offer would be contingent upon successful completion of any required screening.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the supervision and care of campers throughout the day
• Support the implementation of daily camp activities, including games, crafts, and group events
• Help maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive environment for all children
• Set up and clean up activity areas, supplies, and equipment
• Provide support to lead counselors and staff as needed
• Monitor camper behavior and report any concerns to supervisors
• Assist with transitions, snack time, and outdoor activities
• Promote teamwork, respect, and positive interactions among campers
• Uphold camp rules, policies, and safety procedures at all times
