2028 2L Summer Associate – Los Angeles

Ashurst Perkins Coie•Los Angeles, CA
•$18,750 - $18,750

About The Position

Ashurst Perkins Coie is accepting applications from first-year law students in good standing at an ABA-accredited law school for its 2028 summer associate program in the Los Angeles office. Summer associates are hired into a specific practice area; this opening is for Projects, Energy, Environment & Resources. Applicants are encouraged to explain how their academic or professional background, skills, and interests connect to their chosen practice area. Transfers to other practice areas are uncommon, as the program is intended to build a foundation in the selected area and develop long-term connections within that practice. Summer associates perform meaningful substantive work, including research, drafting, analysis, and client-facing projects alongside attorneys and mentors. They may attend hearings, client meetings, depositions, and deal closings, work on pro bono matters, participate in professional development activities, and attend social events. Applications are considered on a rolling basis beginning November 2, 2026, and early applications are encouraged. Application materials must be uploaded in PDF format. The position is not benefits-eligible, although paid holidays are available. Compensation is $18,750 per month.
