2027 Summer Associate (JD 2028)
About The Position
Rivkin Radler is seeking law students for its 2027 Summer Associate Program. Summer Associates gain hands-on experience across practice areas, working with experienced attorneys on legal research, writing, client interactions, case management, legal strategy, transactions, and litigation. The program provides practical experience, mentorship, and exposure to real-world legal work, as well as internal training and opportunities to participate in pro bono and community service initiatives. The program lasts 10 weeks. The 2027 salary will be calculated pro rata from entry-level associate compensation, currently $115,000–$120,000 depending on location; actual pay may be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Applications are due by July 2026 and should include a resume and law school transcript. The firm has approximately 250 lawyers and offices in Albany, Hackensack, Jacksonville, New York City, Poughkeepsie, and Uniondale. Duties may change or be added at any time.
Requirements
- Be currently enrolled in an accredited law school and have completed at least one year of law studies by the start of the summer program.
- Strong academic performance.
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and analyze legal issues.
- Draft memoranda, briefs, and other legal documents.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, trials, and depositions.
- Participate in client meetings, negotiations, and case strategy sessions.
- Collaborate with attorneys on transactions and litigation matters.
- Attend and contribute to internal training sessions and workshops.
- Assist with pro bono projects and community service initiatives.
