About The Position

The Summer Associate role at BRG involves both quantitative and qualitative work, depending on project needs and the associate's skills. Responsibilities include research, data collection, and performing economic, statistical, and financial analyses. The program is approximately 8 weeks long, starting in Summer 2027, and includes dedicated mentors, training, and hands-on learning. BRG aims to convert successful Summer Associates into full-time Associates after graduation. The role is designed to build technical skills and contribute to significant legal and business outcomes.

Requirements

  • Progression towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, Statistics, Accounting, Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration or a related analytical field, with an expected graduation date between Winter 2027 and Summer 2028.
  • Demonstrated interest in applying analytics to business, financial, legal, regulatory, or policy questions.
  • Strong quantitative, research, problem-solving, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, client-service environment.
  • Attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Candidates must be able to submit verification of their legal right to work in the United States, without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • 3.6 GPA or higher preferred.
  • Experience with statistical, econometric and programming tools such as Excel, Stata, R, Python, SQL or similar platforms is preferred.
  • Fluency with AI tools is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a practical understanding of industries, markets, legal claims, and business issues relevant to each engagement by gathering and reviewing information from clients, academic literature, legal documents, specialized industry resources, commercial databases, or other sources.
  • Identify, collect, develop, maintain, analyze, and review data, qualitative materials, spreadsheets, and other files as dictated by complex project needs.
  • Combine programming, model building, and statistical analysis skills using relational databases and statistical programs (e.g., SQL, R, Stata, SAS, Python, Snowflake) to analyze various subjects.
  • Interact with senior staff, experts, and clients to clearly communicate questions, findings, economic and business concepts, and recommendations.
  • Demonstrate creativity and efficient analytical skills to develop novel solutions tailored to unique projects.
  • Provide valuable contributions to client deliverables and expert reports.
