About The Position

The 2027 Summer Analyst program is a 10-week internship program designed to provide an opportunity to experience the culture and atmosphere of New England Asset Management, Inc. Summer Analysts will be fully immersed in the day-to-day activities of the business providing opportunities to learn, grow, and excel. Key highlights of the program include a mentorship program, weekly speaker series, intensive training on the business model, frequent connectivity with other Summer Analysts and the program team, round table discussions on current events, and opportunities to exchange ideas and network with peers, mentors, and senior leaders. Interns will assist/manage the formation of trends and metrics related to analysis work to support the business supervisory process, assist with presentations, projects, and related follow-up tasks, and may be assigned to special projects in various departments. Participants will also engage in a community outreach program with teens from the Boys & Girls Club of Hartford.

Requirements

  • Students must be enrolled in an undergraduate program and be in good academic standing.
  • High school degree required.
  • Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to multi-task and be able to reassess priorities as situations arise
  • Detail-oriented and attention to accuracy and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to exercise discretion with confidential matters
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Intellectual curiosity and openness to utilize AI-enabled tools to enhance operational efficiency

Nice To Haves

  • Preference is given to students who will be rising seniors in the summer of 2027.
  • Summer Analysts should have an interest in Investments, Portfolio Management, Portfolio Analytics, Actuarial Science, Relationship Management, Investment Accounting, Risk, and Information Technology within the financial services and insurance industry and be eager to learn and make an impact.
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree with a concentration in one of the following: Finance, Operations, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, Accounting or Business is desirable.
  • Prior internship experience in Financial Services is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist/Manage the formation of trends and metrics as it relates to the analysis work to support the business supervisory process that the data supports.
  • Assist with presentations, projects, and related follow up tasks.
  • May be assigned to special projects in various departments throughout the Firm.
