About The Position

As a Corporate Finance Advisory Summer Analyst within Lazard’s broader Strategic Capital Solutions team, you will work on corporate finance, capital structure, and financing advisory. You will support and advise corporate and sponsor clients on capital structure optimization and capital raising across topics including M&A, corporate separations and optimizations, refinancing, and other projects involving the capital markets. The team develops market-agnostic solutions, working with clients to optimize their circumstances and, where appropriate, execute on their behalf. Summer Analysts are exposed to public and private capital markets and work with sector banking teams and clients across sectors to connect the capital markets to Lazard’s clients. The Corporate Finance Advisory team combines M&A and capital structure expertise with sector knowledge to provide tailored solutions. Its work includes acquisition finance strategy, ratings analysis, spin/split advisory, and capital structure optimization. The team also advises on complex infrastructure projects and industrial initiatives; optimal capital structures; financial flexibility across debt and equity; cost-of-capital and capital-allocation analyses; balance-sheet and return-of-capital strategy; ratings in M&A and strategic transactions; separation mechanics and value creation for NewCo and RemainCo; and debt financing, including financing commitments, term loans, and revolving credit facilities. The internship begins with a week-long comprehensive training program in New York. Participants receive formal mentorship, exposure to the Leadership Team, and opportunities to take part in social and networking events with bankers across the firm.
