About The Position

Apollo Global Engineering is seeking Summer Analysts to help advance the firm’s technology and build solutions that improve how it operates. The role partners with investment professionals to streamline day-to-day activities and develop efficient workflows, while collaborating with technology teams and subject matter experts to deliver end-to-end solutions.

The 10-week Summer Program offers full immersion in small, dynamic teams and an apprenticeship learning experience. Summer Analysts work with junior and senior professionals on team projects and contribute to active engineering work, from feature development through testing and deployment. The position has opportunities in Apollo’s New York, Austin, and El Segundo offices.

The role includes using AI-assisted development tools and exploring AI and automation opportunities, with responsibility for reviewing and validating AI-generated output. At the conclusion of the internship, Summer Analysts present their work and learnings to the team and leadership.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in data analytics, software development, computer science, engineering, or a related field, with an expected graduation date in May or June 2028.
• Excellent academic record.
• Demonstrated interest in finance and technology through previous internships, jobs, or coursework.
• Very strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Python, Java, C#, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
• Familiarity with Git and core software development concepts.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
• Eagerness to learn, take ownership, and ask good questions.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants and tools, such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or ChatGPT, in coursework, projects, or prior work.
• Understanding of generative AI’s strengths and limitations, including the importance of reviewing, testing, and validating AI-generated code.
• Ability to write effective prompts and iterate on outputs to solve technical problems.

Nice To Haves

• Foundational knowledge of AI/ML concepts, such as LLMs, APIs, or basic model workflows.
• Interest in applying AI to improve engineering productivity and address real business use cases.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, REST APIs, or front-end frameworks such as React or Angular.
• Prior internship, co-op, or relevant project experience.
• Interest in investing, markets, or the technology that supports them.

Responsibilities

• Partner with junior and senior professionals on projects across the team.
• Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, code reviews, and retrospectives.
• Design, develop, test, and deploy features and enhancements for active projects.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and contribute to documentation.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions with guidance from senior engineers and product owners.
• Troubleshoot and resolve defects and help improve existing systems’ performance and reliability.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automation, and engineering best practices.
• Use AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, debugging, and documentation, and review and validate AI-generated output.
• Identify opportunities to apply AI and automation to improve team workflows and business processes.
• Present work and learnings to the team and leadership at the conclusion of the internship.
