About The Position

The School of Engineering at Texas A&M International University seeks to establish a pool of qualified applicants for future, part-time Adjunct Faculty appointments in Electrical Engineering. Successful applicants will primarily teach Principles of Electrical Engineering and Laboratory courses and may teach other foundational engineering courses in the future. These are temporary appointments, assigned per semester and on an as-needed basis, specifically for the Summer 2026 semester and/or any applicable Summer 2026 sub-terms.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the discipline.
  • Previous experience teaching Principles of Electrical Engineering and Laboratory courses.
  • Previous teaching experience at the collegiate level.
  • Prior relevant industry experience.

Nice To Haves

  • An earned doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field with a minimum of 18 graduate hours.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with students, university administrators, and the general public.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work under stress and with pressing timelines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Principles of Electrical Engineering courses.
  • Teach Electrical Engineering Laboratory courses.
  • May teach other foundational engineering courses in the future.
