About The Position

The setup Porter Crew is responsible for ensuring all suites with preordered food and beverages are set up as close to turnkey as possible. This is a critical role in the operation and careful attention to detail is required. Either the Assistant Manager or Suites Operations Manager will distribute the appropriate paperwork for the crew to be able to efficiently set up all suites required. As our clients can walk through all the suites at any given time, it is imperative that even when completing set-ups that all suites always present as professionally as possible.

Requirements

  • Previous Porter experience considered an asset but not required
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Requires ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Working knowledge of food safety principles and procedures
  • Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Responsibilities

  • All suites are to be set up consistently with the same disposable plateware, cutlery, glassware, etc. unless otherwise specified. Mixing and matching of service ware is not permitted.
  • Depending on the order, some suites may require china plates and rolled up cutlery (in black napkins with tie bands) – all plates are to be checked over and cutlery/glassware polished.
  • All equipment (chafers / heat lamps / service ware) are to be POLISHED when setting up.
  • Sternos are to be dropped off – 2 per chafing unit.
  • All food labels are to be set out according to menu items ordered.
  • Garbage's are to be tucked into the cupboards or placed discreetly so they aren’t the first thing you see when you walk into a suite.
  • When applicable, add risers and décor to elevate the food display for an enhanced layout.
