As a Suicide Prevention Coordinator supporting our customer, you will be trusted to provide clinical support. The Suicide Prevention Coordinator (SPC) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) responsible for leading, developing, and integrating suicide prevention initiatives across Special Operations Forces (SOF) units. The SPC serves as the Component‑level subject‑matter expert for suicide prevention policy, reporting, and program execution. This role also includes providing clinical support when required, contributing directly to the readiness, resilience, and psychological well‑being of service members and their families.

Requirements

  • Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) or equivalent (MSSW, MSSA) degree from a graduate school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of professional standards and ethics regarding the delivery of clinical social work services.
  • Experience in brief behavioral interventions.
  • Minimum of two (2) years peer-reviewable clinical social work experience in a mental health setting.
  • Secret or Top-Secret Clearance, or the ability to obtain clearance.
  • US Citizenship Required: Yes
  • Clearance Level Must Currently Possess: Top Secret
  • Clearance Level Must Be Able to Obtain: Top Secret/SCI

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a government setting such as DoW or VA MTF is preferable.

Responsibilities

  • Attend and participate in meetings during normal duty hours, professional staff conferences and other appropriate professional activities such as, but not limited to the following: POTFF Enterprise meetings, quality improvement meetings, professional staff meetings, commander's staff meetings, and other meetings required by applicable regulations or as directed by the unit Commander of his/her designee.
  • Review applied research and incorporate best practices into suicide prevention policy, programming, and initiatives across their Component.
  • Apply social work procedures and techniques to include interviewing, behavioral assessment, and evidence-based therapist, in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological and neuropsychological disorders using the following skills: individual, family, and group psychotherapy, couples therapy, and/or alcohol and drug treatment evaluations.
  • Consult with medical personnel, legal authorities, military commanders and school districts as required.
  • Participate in military specific training/activities (e.g., security clearances, use of the DoW or service specific clinical practice guidelines, pre-post deployment screening, PTSD, and combat stress) and others as directed by the unit Commander or his/her designee.
  • Provide clinical supervision of unlicensed providers or trainees.
