About The Position

The Suicide Prevention Coordinator leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of suicide prevention initiatives within the CCBHC. This position ensures alignment with evidence-based practices, CCBHC standards, and state and federal regulations. The coordinator supports staff training, quality improvement, risk identification, crisis response protocols, and care coordination to reduce suicide risk among individuals served.

  • Communication: Clear, persuasive communication with leadership, clinicians, and operational teams.
  • Decision-Making: Strong judgement in balancing safety, ethics, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboration: Ability to develop collaborative relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Working knowledge of Zero Suicide principles
  • Strong communication skills including verbal and written communication
  • Organized and attentive to detail
  • Master’s degree in psychology, Social Work, Counseling/Psychology, M. ED, Health Administration
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience
  • Driver's License

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the implementation of MHCGM’s suicide prevention strategy.
  • Assist in developing and enhancing MHCGM’s suicide prevention practice guidelines, policies, procedures, and workflows across clinical programs.
  • Oversee MHCGM’s suicide prevention practices to ensure they align with SAMHSA guidance, Zero Suicide principles, and CCBHC requirements.
  • Collaborate with clinical leaders to support effective implementation of suicide prevention training and best practices.
  • Support coordination within MHCGM programs and between MHCGM programs and community partners.
  • Work with Community Relations & Development department to develop and sustain community awareness strategies and participate in statewide initiatives and committees.
  • Work with the Director of Data Science to monitor suicide-related indicators and quality metrics.
  • Co-conduct sentinel event reviews following deaths by suicide.
  • Co-lead quality improvement initiatives related to suicide prevention.
  • Participate in the development and delivery of staff training on suicide prevention best practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
