AECOM is seeking a SUE Field Supervisor. We offer a comprehensive suite of Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE), private utility locating, and services to our diverse customer base comprised of Engineering, Environmental, Utility, Surveying, Construction, and Infrastructure. This is a hybrid position, with approximately 80% of the time spent in the field and 20% in the office. The role is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of multiple field crews, ensuring their adherence to AECOM’s strict guidelines for safety and quality. This includes creating and maintaining field crew schedules for various projects across multiple locations and ensuring adherence to these schedules to meet project timelines and budgets. The position involves reading and interpreting utility drawings, as-builts, GIS Files, and other utility records data, as well as initiating, tracking, processing, and documenting utility records requests. Utilizing advanced geophysical equipment (including Ground Penetrating Radar), observational skills, and deductive reasoning, the supervisor will identify, designate, and locate utilities in accordance with ASCE 38-02 & 38-22. Surveying utility features and line segments will be done using GPS and Total Station equipment with Trimble Data Collectors and applications. The role also includes performing field audits for accuracy and completeness, conducting QA/QC of SUE field data, and troubleshooting technical problems in the field. Consistent and effective communication with field and office staff, managers, and Professionals in Charge is essential. The supervisor will also act as an advisor/mentor to junior field staff and may have occasional interaction with clients, utility representatives, business owners, and homeowners.
