About The Position

The Substance Use Disorder Mental Health Professional is responsible for the day-to-day operation of Substance Use Disorder (SUD) services and provision of therapy services. In addition to coordinating team activities, MHP is also responsible for direct patient care including services to individual patients such as conducting individual group and family therapy as needed, initial biopsychosocial assessment, substance use assessment treatment plan development/revision, and aftercare planning including referral to community resources as needed. The SUD Mental Health Professional is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of services with patients, assuring that services are delivered in a courteous and professional manner and in accordance with applicable policies and procedures, rules, regulations, and prevailing law. The SUD Mental Health Professional will maintain effective relationships with other community agencies to support cross-referral of patients and collaborate with the Director of Community Education to coordinate/implement SUD marketing plan.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree/licensure required.
  • Licensed in the state of Arkansas.
  • Must have or obtain current CPI/NCI certification.
  • Working knowledge of and adhere to all Unity Health policy and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of and adhere to all unit/department policy and procedures including medical record documentation and utilization of up-to-date forms.
  • Demonstrate working understanding of HIPAA, 42-CFR Part 2, Patient Rights, and appropriate conduct.
  • Demonstrate the continued ability to create and maintain a positive culture that is respectful of patient and employee rights, consistent with Unity Health Standards of Behavior.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrate leadership ability and interest in professional growth.
  • Readily adaptable to changing physician demands, without deterioration under stress.
  • Basic concept of budgeting, scheduling, and counseling.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, training and skills necessary and appropriate to the patient-specific population.
  • Able to set priorities and effectively delegate/coordinate interdisciplinary care based on the needs of the patient, case load, and program needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred LMSW/LCSW.
  • Other master’s level degrees/licensure considered based on experience (LAC/LPC; LMFT).
  • Licensed Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC) desired.
  • 2 years’ experience working in treatment of substance use disorders preferred.
  • Prior experience working with court involved populations is highly desired.
  • If in recovery, prefer five years post-recovery/sobriety from drug and alcohol addiction, minimum of 2 years.
