SUD IOP Therapist (CAC/ CAS only) - part-time evenings
About The Position
Centennial Peaks Hospital is seeking a Substance Use Disorder Counselor to provide direct clinical care to adult patients struggling with substance abuse. The counselor works closely with patients and the treatment team to develop therapeutic plans, provides group therapy, develops relapse prevention plans, and supports patients in engaging with the recovery process. The role includes completing Addiction Severity Index assessments for dual-diagnosis and detox patients, making discharge recommendations, documenting groups, and coordinating patient care with the treatment team. The position requires a CAC or CAS certification and a bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field. A master’s degree in a related field and relevant experience are preferred. The job is part-time and scheduled for evenings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field.
- CAC or CAS certification.
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- One year of experience working with a psychiatric mental health population and/or chemically dependent population.
- Knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationship processes, age-specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, and crisis management with aggressive behaviors.
- CPR training.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adult patients experiencing substance abuse.
- Work with patients and the treatment team to develop therapeutic plans.
- Provide group therapy and develop relapse prevention plans.
- Complete Addiction Severity Index assessments for dual-diagnosis and detox patients.
- Make discharge recommendations.
- Use motivational interviewing and other evidence-based skills to engage patients in the recovery process.
- Complete group documentation.
- Coordinate care with treatment-team members through treatment planning, team meetings, or other means.
