About the Program This program is a new interdepartmental initiative that aims to provide support to individuals receiving services from JFCS. Through Success Coaches, individuals will help clients reduce barriers, build skills and confidence, and achieve stability that leads to economic mobility. With the help of Success Coaches, each enrolled participant will create a service plan with goals to address their circumstances and regular touchpoints to track progress. Position Summary JFCS Success Coaches work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and needs to identify barriers that limit their ability to achieve their goals. Success coaches expand what clients can see, what they believe is possible, and what they are equipped to do. Depending on client need, Success Coaches may engage in an intensive, urgent response to a crisis, or may provide resources to clients struggling to solve life’s challenges on their own. Success Coaches work with the client to prioritize their goals as they navigate the barriers on their pathway to stability and success. A limited number of participants in JFCS career preparation and support programs who meet program eligibility requirements may receive a stipend for up to 18 months through the Catalyst for Economic Mobility. This stipend would allow them to achieve greater financial stability as they build toward the future. Success Coaches will guide these participants in the Catalyst for Economic Mobility through “light touch” support and barrier reduction, in addition to support with goal setting and resource navigation. Comfort with inputting information into data systems.
Must work well as part of a team
Must be sensitive to cultural differences of clients and staff from diverse backgrounds
Able to work flexible hours.
Access to a vehicle is required.

Bachelor’s Degree a plus.

Responsibilities

Conduct intake sessions to assess client needs across various domains: housing, food, childcare, transportation, income, healthcare, technology, and financial assets.
Co-create individualized service plans with clients, including measurable action items that are primarily assigned to and owned by the client.
Provide light-touch follow-up to review goal achievement and engage in intentional conversations with clients.
Conduct warm referrals to community resources, financial coaching programs, workforce development services, and other supports identified collaboratively with the client.
Provide specific support, monitoring, and coordination for participants enrolled in the Catalyst for Economic Mobility.
Maintain current working knowledge of local community resources related to housing, food assistance, childcare, transportation, financial assistance, workforce development, and healthcare and other emerging needs.
Verify resource eligibility requirements, waitlist status, and geographic availability prior to making referrals.
Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and referral agencies to facilitate warm, effective connections.
Support clients in navigating applications and systems when structural barriers require direct caseworker assistance.
Follow up as needed for all support provided.
Actively participate in training to develop coaching skills and strength-based models, such as motivational interviewing, to help clients identify and use skills and resources that support behavioral changes leading to economic mobility.
Workshop development and presentations for client cohorts.
Maintain timely and accurate case notes in the program’s case management system.
Document service plans, action items, referrals, and session progress in accordance with program standards.
Complete required program data entry to support outcome tracking, reporting, and funder compliance.
Participate in regular supervision, team meetings, case consultations, and professional development activities.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all ethical standards, data privacy requirements, and mandatory reporting laws.
