About The Position

This position provides a high quantity of proactive student contact through in-person, phone and email communication; new and continuing student scheduling; responding to student questions and/or requests; identifying students at-risk for academic failure and implementing strategies to promote student success. In addition, this position will serve as the accessibility services coordinator. This is an in-person, on-campus position. Eligible to work on any MCTC Campus. This is not a remote position. Limited remote benefits may be available if eligible.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain direct contact and provide guidance and support to students to improve student success. This includes: monitoring attendance and academic progress; discussing and supporting the student as they resolve issues that occur in the classroom environment; informing and connecting students to available academic and well-being resources; advising; and helping students develop individual student success and SAP plan
  • Coordinate Accessibility Services for students with documented disabilities, including reviewing accommodation requests and documentation, determining, and assigning appropriate accommodations, maintaining confidential records, and communicating approved accommodations to faculty in compliance with KCTCS, ADA, and Section 504 guidelines.
  • Assist the success coaching team in coordinating student success services, including: Accessibility Services and Tutoring.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of all MCTC programs, including pre-requisite and program courses, admissions processes, program requirements, and workforce needs. --Maintain relationships with program faculty to support and connect students.
  • Assist in the development of the success center operations, including the process for early intervention and reporting
  • Other duties as assigned
