About The Position

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Subsystems Engineer Aeronautical / Principal Engineer Aeronautical to join our team of qualified diverse individuals. The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA and is assigned to 1st shift on a 4/10 (Monday - Thursday) schedule. The selected candidate will become part of the Liaison Engineering team within the Vehicle Engineering IPT and responsibilities include: Experience in the design of electrical wire harness and coax cable installations including routing, supporting structure, and integration into an air vehicle. Create and modify designs in 3D environment of details, assemblies, and installations of wire harness and coax cable routings and supports Execute engineering design projects on schedule. Support assembly line installations. The candidate should also have an understanding of 3D modeling, modern file management systems, GD&T, and MRB.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and at least 2 years of relevant experience (for Engineer level), or a Master's Degree in STEM with no years of experience (for Engineer level).
  • Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and at least 5 years of relevant experience (for Principal Engineer level), a Master's Degree in STEM with 3 years of relevant experience (for Principal Engineer level), or a PhD Degree with no experience (for Principal Engineer level).
  • Experience in military aircraft wire harness and coax cable installations and supporting structure designs using 3D solid modeling.
  • This position requires a current in-scope DOD Secret Clearance as well as the ability to obtain a Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with NX 3D modeling tools or similar systems for the design of electrical system routings and supports.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees, diverse technical teams and management.
  • Understanding of 3D modeling, modern file management systems, GD&T, and MRB.
