About The Position

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is looking for a Crew and Equipment Design Engineer or Principal Crew and Equipment Design Engineer with experience in Design and integration in the Aerospace industry to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This role is located in Melbourne, FL. This position is fully onsite with no remote work available. Selected candidates should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels. Candidates must be self-starters capable of flourishing in an environment with minimal direction. This role may be filled as a Crew & Equipment Engineer (Level 2) or Principal Engineer (Level 3) based on the qualifications outlined below.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and at least 2 years of relevant experience (for Engineer level) OR a Master's Degree in STEM with no years of experience (for Engineer level).
  • Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and at least 5 years of relevant experience (for Principal Engineer level) OR a Master's Degree in STEM with 3 years of relevant experience (for Principal Engineer level) OR a PhD Degree with no experience (for Principal Engineer level).
  • Design experience with sheet metal, machined details, and assemblies.
  • Experience with or understanding of simple GD&T methods for hole size pattern tolerance and assembly tolerance schemes.
  • Active In-scope (within 6 years) U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
  • Ability to obtain Program Special access within a reasonable period of time.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Northrop Grumman ACS-PRS/FRS specifications
  • Experience with RC/I processes and dispositions
  • Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Experience with the design, analysis and integration of equipment/ LRU's onto a platform.
  • Experience with CAD software NX
  • Experience with Teamcenter PLM
  • Experience interpreting component detail drawings, specifications, installation drawings, and test procedures.
  • Experience in delivering complex technical solutions, within cost and schedule constraints, across the various phases of the engineering lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Develop ICDs, layouts, and drawings of crew and equipment installations.
  • NX modeling and equipment integration.
  • Work with suppliers for integration activities.
