Serving under the general supervision of the principal and academic leadership team, the substitute will report to the designated campus daily (Monday through Wednesday) to work EVE sessions in person and Thursday through Friday Virtually to ensure coverage for classes is consistent.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree
  • Experience teaching
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in English and preferably a second needed language in writing and speaking with all school stakeholders
  • Ability to create a safe and compassionate learning environment through leading excellence in teaching and learning
  • Effective mediation skills with sensitivity to cross-cultural issues to resolve conflicts
  • Strong reasoning and problem-solving abilities
  • Must be able to provide proof of completed COVID-19 vaccination
  • Deep commitment to CRIPCS's core values and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) and ability to model those values in relationships with colleagues and partners.

  • Fluently speak, read, and write in English

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in ESL and Adult Education preferred
  • Demonstrate knowledge and competence in both ESL preparation and Adult Education
  • Must be flexible and able to make adaptations to meet the academic needs of students with different learning skills and challenges
  • Work comfortably with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Excellent communication skills, be able to explain concepts to others effectively
  • Excellent organizational skills and timely completion of tasks
  • Knowledge and experience using Windows, Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook

Responsibilities

  • Implement lesson plans provided by the instructor
  • Take attendance
  • Leave notes regarding student performance/participation from the day’s lesson as well as any challenges encountered while covering the class
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned when coverage is not needed
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures
  • Adhere to campus protocols and procedures as it relates to events such as assemblies, class breaks, session times, etc
