About The Position

As an Early Learning Childcare Educator, you will play a central role in providing high-quality care and education to children in their early years. You will create a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters holistic development, including cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth. Your responsibilities will encompass working together as a team to plan and implement engaging educational activities, building positive relationships with children and families, and ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred
  • Previous experience working in a childcare setting, with demonstrated knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with early learning frameworks, such as the New Brunswick Framework.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their growth and development.
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Compliance with background check and any other regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Implement developmentally the New Brunswick curriculum plans based on the Early Years Learning Framework.
  • Design and facilitate a variety of engaging learning experiences, including play-based activities, group projects, and individualized instruction.
  • Integrate early literacy, numeracy, science, art, and social studies concepts into daily activities to support children's overall development.
  • Observe and assess children's developmental progress, interests, and strengths, and document observations using appropriate assessment tools.
  • Use assessment data to inform individualized learning goals and tailor instructional strategies to meet the needs of each child.
  • Provide regular feedback to parents on their child's progress and achievements.
  • Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all children feel safe, valued, and respected.
  • Implement effective behavior management strategies that promote self-regulation, conflict resolution, and social-emotional competence.
  • Model positive behaviors and encourage children to develop empathy, cooperation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Cultivate collaborative partnerships with parents and families through regular communication, parent meetings, and family events.
  • Involve families in their child's learning journey by sharing curriculum goals, offering resources and support, and soliciting input on program activities.
  • Provide opportunities for family involvement in classroom activities, celebrations, and volunteer opportunities.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in early childhood education and child development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and coordinate interdisciplinary activities, projects, and events that enrich the learning environment.
  • Engage in reflective practice, seeking feedback from supervisors, peers, and families to continuously improve teaching practices and program quality.
