About The Position

This position is responsible for the safe transport of all passengers, complying with DMV Article 19-A and Commissioner's Regulations, agency policies and procedures. The role also involves maintaining reporting documentation and ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the vehicle. The position requires adherence to all driving rules and regulations, as well as agency policies and procedures. The driver will also be responsible for completing daily vehicle and grant reports.

Requirements

  • Possess a clean CDL License with endorsements to comply with Agency requirements.
  • One-year experience preferred.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Excellent Time Management Skills.
  • Personable and Respectful.
  • Ability to Lead and Direct.
  • Calm Under Pressure.
  • Ability to Use Computers and Tablets.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; lift; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Work may require lifting, pushing, or pulling in excess of 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with DMV Article 19-A and Commissioner's Regulations, agency policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the safe transport of all passengers.
  • Maintain reporting documentation.
  • Maintain a current CDL License with appropriate endorsements.
  • Complete all requirements for compliance to 19-A regulations as scheduled.
  • Practice safe driving techniques adhering to all driving rules and regulations.
  • Attend bus driver meetings and/or workshops as scheduled.
  • Remove trash from the vehicle daily and dispose of it properly.
  • Sweep the vehicle floor daily.
  • Perform a "walk through" on the vehicle immediately after all passengers disembark to ensure no passengers or personal belongings remain.
  • Report any incidents or concerns that occur during transport according to agency policy and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate reporting using paper documentation and technology.
  • Complete daily vehicle reports and grant reports on a daily basis using assigned equipment.
  • Adhere to all applicable procedures and policies.
  • Determine that all passengers are seated and wearing seat belts prior to transporting.
