About The Position

Kokua Education is seeking Substitute Teachers for the 2026-27 school year in the Maple Grove and surrounding Minneapolis area. This part-time role allows you to set your own schedule, earn up to $195 per day, and make a significant impact on students' lives by becoming a positive role model and sparking a love for learning. Kokua Education was founded in 2011 by a former teacher and connects talented, professional educators with K-12 schools nationwide, building a diverse network of dedicated substitute teachers who play a pivotal role in their communities.

Requirements

At least 6 months working with kids in any setting (classroom, tutoring, coaching, etc.).
Bachelor’s degree or higher.
Hold a MN Substitute Teaching License or Educators license.
Feel confident managing a classroom of students.
Willing to step in where needed.
Willing to work at least 2 days/week.
Pass state & federal background checks.

Responsibilities

Substitute teach in K-12 classrooms.
Manage a classroom of students.
Step in where needed, including lunch/recess supervision, hallway monitoring, tutoring, and proctoring during testing season.
