About The Position

Wonderful College Prep Academy is seeking substitute teachers with subject focuses in Special Education, Math, Science, and ELA for its Delano and Lost Hills campuses. Substitute teachers lead classrooms in day-to-day and long-term assignments, follow lesson plans, provide direct instruction, and use behavior management strategies. They may also support tutoring, enrichment, and small-group differentiation in literacy and/or mathematics, maintain blended-learning data trackers, and help supervise students before, during, and after school dismissal while following campus safety policies. The role calls for thoughtful, inclusive communicators and creative problem-solvers who are committed to the Academy’s mission and educational philosophy. Compensation is listed as a daily rate of $225.

Requirements

• Meet the minimum requirements for a valid California Substitute Teaching Permit.
• Commit to the organization’s mission and educational philosophy.
• Be organized and self-managed, with the ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
• Have strong oral and written interpersonal and communication skills.
• Be able to collaborate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Be dependable and demonstrate excellent follow-through.
• Have computer knowledge and skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

• Previous substitute teaching, instructional aide, or other relevant experience is preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish speaker is a plus.
