About The Position

Kokua is seeking substitute teachers in San Antonio, TX, to make a positive impact in the community by creating powerful moments that shift students’ perception of what’s possible. Applications are currently being accepted for the 2025-26 school year, with an immediate interview process. Kokua, meaning 'to come together to fulfill a need' in Hawaiian, aims to connect students with classroom role models who can empower them. Substitute teaching offers the chance to positively contribute to the community, help solve the teacher shortage crisis, provide a flexible schedule (up to 5 days/week), add representation to classrooms, and gain autonomy in choosing assignments and locations. Requirements

• 1+ year(s) working with students in any setting (classroom, tutoring, coaching, camps, etc.)
• Minimum of 48 college credit hours
• Confidence to manage a classroom of students
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
• Strong belief that every child has a unique & powerful gift to share with the world
• Ability to pass state & federal background checks
