About The Position

Campus Adventures and its sister brands provide comprehensive support services to school districts and charter schools across Texas, including before and after-school programs, STEAM enrichment, temporary staffing, tutoring, and professional development. As a Guest Teacher with Campus Adventures Staffing Solutions, you have a unique opportunity to shape a child's future. We are looking for committed and dependable substitute teachers to join our dynamic team this fall semester. In this role, you will be essential in maintaining a positive and effective learning environment when the regular teacher is unavailable. Your duties will involve delivering prepared lessons, managing student behavior, and ensuring the curriculum progresses smoothly.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Strong writing, reading and communication skills in English
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively manage a classroom and maintain discipline
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in different grade levels and subject areas
  • Ability to lift and carry 40 Lbs
  • Stand consecutively for 8 hours, able kneel, crouch and sit on the floor
  • Visually and audibly able to monitor the classrooms and students and navigate for emergencies
  • Have the physical ability to perform CPR
  • To be able to move swiftly in emergency situations

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in childcare, early childhood education, tutoring, or related fields is preferred
  • Familiarity with math, literacy education, and lesson planning is beneficial
  • Experience working with students of various ages and abilities, including preschool and special education students, is a plus
  • Higher education in education or related field is a plus
  • Prior experience working with students in an educational setting is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction and guidance to students in the absence of the regular teacher
  • Follow lesson plans and ensure continuity of learning
  • Maintain a safe and positive classroom environment
  • Implement classroom management strategies to promote student engagement and behavior management
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the individual needs of students
  • Collaborate with other staff members to support student success
  • Provide feedback to the regular classroom teacher regarding student progress and any issues that arise during your assignment
  • Complete all training required by TEA
