About The Position
This position is for a Substitute Teacher for the 2026-2027 School Year. Applicants must meet specific eligibility requirements, including obtaining a Sub Permit, registering with the KCSOS office, and possessing a packet from KCSOS indicating eligibility. The application process requires submitting various documents in PDF format, including teaching permits/credentials, resume, KCSOS paperwork, transcripts, DOJ fingerprint clearance, TB results, a medical examination form, and certificates for Mandated Reporter and Sexual Harassment training dated July 1st, 2026, or later. All required paperwork must be submitted with the application for consideration. Selected candidates will receive further communication from the district.
Requirements
- Obtain a Sub Permit.
- Register with the KCSOS office as a Sub Teacher.
- Possess a packet from KCSOS stating eligibility to seek employment as a Substitute Teacher in Kern County.
- Attach required paperwork in PDF form to the application.
- Provide a valid Teaching Permit or Credential with document number and expiration date, or a Current Temporary County Certificate from KCSOS.
- Provide a Current Resume.
- Complete the Form titled "Information Necessary for Sub Teaching" by KCSOS.
- Provide Transcripts showing a Bachelor's Degree or 90 semester units and current enrollment at a 4-year university (unofficial transcripts are acceptable for application).
- Provide DOJ Fingerprint Clearance (half sheet).
- Provide TB Results with doctor's signature.
- Provide a Medical Examination Form (Physical).
- Provide Certification of Completion for the Mandated Reporter Training (CANRA) & Sexual Harassment Training with a completion date of July 1st, 2026, or later.
- Submit application with ALL required paperwork.
